Do you love NANCY DREW (&/or Hardy Boys) Books?
#aotd
I literally grew up on them! Love Nancy Drew!
Today’s #bookreview is on a book titled #VictimsForSale written by the super talented Nish (Nischinta) Amaranth.
Reading VFS, brought back memories of my school days when I was a die hard fan of Nancy Drew..
What’s the Connection??!
Well, the protagonist, Sandhya (Sandy) Raman is a journalist based in Mumbai. She was covering the Mumbai Bomb Blasts in June when she lost her boyfriend Saahil in the same incident.
Later she coerces her father, a priest & her brother to let her go abroad & study Masters in Media Governance from London School of Economics.
She is just 19yrs old.
The story begins from here..3 months after the blasts..in Sep..in London..at the home of Sawants..where Sandy is a PG & is in a reverie of the Mumbai blasts..
Gradually she becomes close to the family..esp. their son Nimmy & his differently abled sis ASHA.
. Her Journalist brain starts working as she finds the family uncanny, spooky & wierd in many ways..
She makes friends with a guy, Chitraksh (Ritchie) Joshi at LSE.
As her course continues, she lands up a stint with BBC TV..
At the same time her curiosity reaches a situation/ level of bedlam wherein she is a witness to murders, has apprehensions about the Sawant Familia, a feeling of uneasiness for an institute of differently abled..discovers a sex racket, masked as something else..& much much more..!!
So our Sleuth, Nancy Drew/ Sandy alongwith Hardy Boys/ Nimmy & Ritchie tries to unveil various masks & a human trafficking scandal..
Will she be able to do all this, in time, before her time runs out??
Published by Harper Black in 2018, it has 324pages divided in 17chapters where each happening has a date & month as header so that the reader understands & manoeuvres his imagination perfectly.
♀️ Nish Amaranth is a Journalist, Writer & Author & has drawn inferences for the fiction, crime thriller from her own life.
Her WRITING STYLE is Crisp & Succinct.
The NARRATION is Exhilarating & for me is the USP of the book.
The PLOT is full of twists & turns that keeps the reader on his wits ends.
The COVER is perfect & gives Goosebumps.
TITLE is apt & on point.
A FAST PACED TALE OF INTRIGUE & SUSPENSE. It touches a very sensitive, heart rending issue of the atrocities, the differently abled girls go through.
Kindly go through the images.

P.s. I have done a separate post on the super talented author.
