I LOVED her WRITING STYLE!!
 This is such an EMOTIONAL READ.

The story starts in the year 2013 & then it skips to different timelines to take the story forward & provide a base.
Narration is mostly by the protagonist, ROBIN HAMILTON, who is a single mom & a successful attorney at the age of 54. The narration is also by two ✌ other people, her daughter- LAUREL OLIVIA HAMILTON (Lark) & by Lark’s father DEAN FALCONER THOMPSON, to provide their perspective.

 Spoiler alert- It has a beautiful HEA!!

ROBIN & LARK are beautiful birds.. Robin, 22, attends a concert & falls in love with Dean, 25. Their love is so precious, so blissful that it felt like a fairytale.
They eventually lose touch when Dean moves back to his hometown.
Dean loses his father & has to take the family’s responsibility on his shoulders, deal with his mourning mother & sisters. Robin is left stranded. She eventually moves to the same place, as Dean in the hope of meeting him someday..& they actually coincide one day. Robin is angry but when she hears Dean out, she is all tears. Eventually their love flourishes & blooms.
Later Robin learns she’s pregnant & she choses not to tell Dean, not to burden him yet..so much so that 34 long years pass & everytime she thinks of telling him, something happens. I felt it to be unrealistic but then it’s fiction, & the way the author portrayed, it looked alright!
They eventually come together for a wonderful ending. In between all this, a mammoth of events unfold, for which you will have to read the book!

Mandy in her immaturity runs risks of ruining her life..

Deb tries to warn & help..but it’s too late.. She is engrossed in her own turmoil..

✨The whole family drama is wound around MISUNDERSTANDINGS, MISCOMMUNICATION, DISTRUST & FEAR.

✨The story gives you DREAD as well as HOPE..it leaves you wiser but sad..

✨Sometimes in facing our own past demons, we fail to look at the problems & potential signs of a tragedy, in the present.

The story is fast paced with well developed, realistic characters. Sometimes I related to Deb, wanting a 2nd child, facing past demons, fearing for her child lest she falls & on the other hand I related to Mandy, being a free bird, impulsive & strong minded, immature & innocent.

This book tells us, the strength of a woman when it’s her family that’s on the line.
The story is told from dual perspective of Deb & Mandy which helps relate to the characters more…

WHEN A ROBIN BIRD VISITS there are several meanings depending on your current state of life. Firstly, after the death of a loved one, a robin will sometimes pay you a visit. Robins, a sign from Heaven, can bring a message from above indicating your loved one is at peace. Secondly, these red-breasted songbirds represent renewal and new beginnings which can mean a transformation of life is about to happen. And thirdly having a robin bird visit and connecting to this bird is a very spiritual experience which gives us renewed hope and increases our faith in a loving God.
