The COVER is winsome, TITLE so bewitching & NARRATION is in a pretty simple language but the story, the plot, the emotions & feelings expressed in this read are amazing. There’s even some poetry to add to the experience.

It is not a typical love story full of romance but instead
is a very sensible, inspiring, pragmatic love story.

The story begins with the protagonist, Siddharth giving an introduction about himself & a basic background of his family & his interests & his love life.

Siddharth, born in Shimla feels mountains are his home, his paradise.

His parents, like any other parent, want him to leave mountaineering & get settled & married.

So to pacify them, he gets engaged with a girl of their choice.

But..still he wants to scale Mt. Everest.

But fate has other plans..

During his mission, he meets & falls in love with his guide, a sherpani, Dohna..

But but but…..

Something drastic & unimaginable happens which is so unexpected that it shakes all the plans..all the dreams..hopes…

He grew up in Colombo but was compelled to do his later schooling & university studies in the UK.

In the first part, he talks about his parents, how they met..what was the situation in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) then..his childhood..

The NARRATION is very detailed & descriptive..it touches our heart strings.

Language, writing style is simple with play of few new words here & there.

The COVER is awesome & detailed, both the front & back covers.

TITLE is simple & self explanatory.

He talks about the beauty of Sri Lanka, the politics, culture..in the past & now, in the present.

The book is sure one big size, bulky & LENGTHY read encompassing 28 chapters in 522 pages but it’s very riveting, engrossing & absorbing.

I was enthralled with the author’s point of view write from the beginning.

The narrative throws light on various emotions faced by Krshna till his mortal journey comes to an end..where he remininces the various events & happenings throughout his life..

It’s a beautiful journey of emotions of motherly love, childhood innocence, sibling love & protection, friendships, guilt, hatred, violence, love,  revenge….danger..deceit..fraud..perfidy..murky times..tenebrous things..

As a student & then as a teacher..what all talents did the protagonist groom within the spectrum of his human abilities..

It’s a beautifully weaved story which begins with “the end” & then continues from the beginning when Krshna is born & again reconnects with the last & death scene..the array of emotions running haywire..of Krshna.

A courageous & wonderful attempt at knitting a story full of human emotions around a Mythological legend.
