Curse of Suspicion by Dr. Sunday Kantawala.

CURSE OF SUSPICION..

Suspicion..doubt or cautious distrust is a Curse..the wise or those who have experienced it would know.

Why does SuSpiCiOn arise❓
It arises because of FEAR..
FEAR of being taken advantage of..

FEAR of physical harm..

FEAR of being put in a disadvantageous position..

FEAR of being hurt financially, emotionally or physically…

FEAR of insecurity..

FEAR of loss – control, territory, possessions…

FEAR of betrayal…

✍️In this story, which ‘fear’ causes suspicion or was it an amalgamation of all these fears..how this suspicion becomes a curse..you need to read the book for that.

 Suspicion, however grave, cannot take the place of proof. It is such a poisonous feed that it lands up ultimately killing and destroying oneself.

‍ The author, Dr. Sunday Kantawala is a well known advocate.

Other books by the same author

1. Love knows no boundaries

2. Three coffee tables books on poetry: “Thoughts”,

“More Thoughts” and “Thoughts Flow on”

‍♀️ My take:
We all know..there’s nothing in the world that can trouble us more than own own thoughts..
That forms the crux of the story.

Genre: fiction
32 chapters clubbed in 266 pages..published by Leadstart Corp in Jan.2020, this book is fresh off d stands!

There are 3 main characters, Satyajeet, Vasudha and their 14year old son Duryodhan. In their relationship, there suspicion, jealousy, financial dependency..

why and how her (Vasudha’s) life was mired with suspicion leading to a strained relationship with her overshadowing husband..

there is regret, guilt and loneliness..

There are snakes..too..and use of vernacular language is there.

The Narration and writing style is pretty simple but good.

I found the book full of lessons and I underlined wise words or lines all throughout the book.. The ending is perfect. I put down the book with a heavy heart.

The last page carries a poem for an epilogue which is again so soulful and talking about lessons learnt in life.

A good, engrossing and a quick read. You can pick it for INR 209/- paperback or INR 149/- kindle @amazondotin

Thankyou @leadstartcorp for the review copy.

Bhoot Bhavish Bartaman by MEHOOL PAREKH.

BHOOT BHAVISH BARTAMAN is a BARTAMAN BHOWMICK MYSTERY.

It is written by MEHOOL PAREKH and published by LEADSTARTCORP (Leadstart Inkstate) in January 2020.

Genre: FICTION/ crime/ mystery/ thriller/ suspense.

There are total 18 chapters covering 317 pages.

COVER: the cover is very interesting, showing different human faces in puzzle kind-of 4*4 square wherein 1 piece is missing.
I remember playing such a game as a kid wherein we have to move the small squares to finally make a legible picture.
This cover is interestingly, designed by the author’s daughter, so we see some teamwork happening in the family.

TITLE: the title, in vernacular language means;
Bhoot- past
Bhavish- future
Bartaman- present.
So it’s comes to say, past future present.
In the context of the story, Bartaman Bhowmick is the name of an important character.
The book cover itself says, a Bartaman Bhowmick Mystery.

It is a pocket size, travel friendly, handy book with catchy colour combination on the front and back cover.

These were the physical attributes about the book. Here the synopsis;
#blurb
A beautiful woman is found brutally murdered in her bed. The usual suspects are arrested by the police until an odd-ball amateur sleuth starts to investigate. Something about the murder does not sit right with him. To start with, the victim – Rupali, a regular housewife living in marital bliss. But is that the truth? Why would someone murder her and why did she meet such a gruesome end? Who, in reality, was she? Introducing major bartaman bhowmick, southern command of the Indian Army. Peace-time Army life and supportive seniors allow major bhowmick to indulge in his hobby and passion – crime detection. His sharp investigative talents are highly valued by his cousin, an ACP in Pune. Robin Chowdhury is a city crime reporter, whose combination of keen intellect, attractive looks and affinity for all things tech, makes her a great sidekick for the major. This book is as much about rupali’s astounding story as her murder and major bhowmick and Robin’s investigation into the murder with its surprising conclusion.

My take:
I really liked the physical attributes of the book. It’s a fresh story/plot and doesn’t feel like a debut novel. A page-turner, it’s an engrossing murder mystery. As with all fiction novels, the author is allowed some things here and there which may not be possible in reality but that’s what is wonderful about it! There love, betrayal, deceit and crime. The narration is perfectly balanced to suit the sequence/turn of events. A good read. Awaiting the next in the Bartaman Bhowmick Mystery.

Available for INR 149/- @amazonkindle and for INR 209/- @amazondotin

Title: QUIRKY
Cover: KOOKY
Narration: very INTERESTING, COURAGEOUS & DIFFERENT
Writing Style: it sometimes SARCASTIC, sometimes CYNICAL, sometimes SATIRICAL and sometimes BURLESQUE!
Language: it’s UNCONVENTIONAL, ECCENTRIC, FREAKISH, WITTY. There’s use of VERNACULAR language too.

There’s relationship non-advice at the end of each chapter.

A nice, QUICK read.. although I would say, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea!

 FEW LINES FROM THE LAST CHAPTER;
If everything told in the previous chapters fails and you still fall in love Then fall in love with her and Love her if you must But Love her as if there is no tomorrow Love her as she if is the world to you and no one and nothing else exists Love her not for her body but for her soul Love her so that she is not the means to your happiness but your happiness itself Love her so much that even if she is not with you,she still is always with you For there is nothing greater than Love And your wish for singlehood shall be fulfilled…

Tagline: ORDINARY PEOPLE HAVE EXTRAORDINARY LIVES.
194 pages- an ENGAGING read.

Main characters:
Aryan
Rhea
Kavya
Priya
Ahana
Rohan.

All these Characters are completely different, the CHARACTER SKETCH is WONDERFULLY DONE.
Each one brings a LESSON, so as to say, a different vibe to the story.

The story revolves around Aryan and the Characters are weaved around and in the protagonist’s story.

It’s definitely a PAGE TURNER and so ENGROSSING that it can be categorised under a QUICK READ, as well.

It is very RELATABLE and will appeal the MASS AUDIENCE, touching some or the other aspect of their lives and striking a chord.

I found the beginning of the book, the PROLOGUE very ENTERTAINING, wherein the journey of a tea stall owner to becoming a well equipped food-joint owner is stated in awesome vocabulary. There is use of vernacular language for an amplified effect.

For the STORYLINE, check the BLURB in the pics.

For a debut novel, the author’s flair and penchant w.r.t. the writing style is amazing.

A SIMPLE, BEAUTIFUL STORY of ordinary, middle-class people.

Available @amazondotin for INR 148/- and @amazonkindle for INR 49/-.
