Yes, I am going to talk about this beautiful poetry published originally in 1935..and has went for reprint innumerable times ever since.

I have the 2016 edition which I bought..after I was mesmerized listening to Mr. Amitabh Bachchan recite it’s verse..and tbh still I don’t have so much reader satisfaction reading from the book alone..I watch and listen to his recitation of the latter.

‍I studied Hindi till 8-9th grade,  I can read, write and speak it fluently but not as much as i am comfortable in English. That’s a regret I have..

Aneways, this book is short and sweet but each stanza is pretty deep, capturing moments from life and relating it and weaving it in MaDhUsHaLa. Amaziiiiiing!

Madhushala (Hindi: मधुशाला) (The Tavern/The House of Wine) is a book of 135 “quatrains”: verses of four lines (Ruba’i) by Hindi poet and writer Harivansh Rai Bachchan (1907–2003). The highly metaphorical work is still celebrated for its deeply Sufi incantations and philosophical undertones.

Madhushala was part of his trilogy. The other titles in the trilogy were Madhubala (मधुबाला) (1936) and Madhukalash मधुकलश) (1937). (Source: #wikipedia ).

#becoming by Michelle Obama.

I am so so excited today!

My favourite (former) First Lady who has written a fabulous #memoir ….her journey post-release of this book, was documented and is being released by NETFLIX on 6th May.2020!!!

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Obama announced the documentary, writing:

Anddddd here’s my #april2020
Wrap up! It consisted of 8 books plus 2 books midway read and going into the #maytbr2020 Out of 8 books, 4 were paperback and 4 were ebooks!  I read varied genres:
romance fiction,
motivational,
political science,
spirituality,
poetry,
historical thriller amongst others. Most of them were #march2020
releases so they were fresh off the racks! 2 booktours Read 2 books out of the #Giveaway
I had won and they were waiting to be read! All the books were from different #publishers 5 #indianauthors and 3 #internationalauthors
Although the no. of books read is less but am totally hApPy with my reads!  2 books, both of em my #giveawaybooks too have been read halfway and going into my #maytbr
