Who is your biggest cheerleader❓
#aotd The author, Echo Brown, says her biggest cHeErLeAdEr is her MOTHER.
Her mother is the most PoWeRFuL Wizard, she knows.
A “thankyou” is not enough for mothers..
I make sure & love to read the acknowledgement, prologue and epilogue of any book I read. Do you❓❓
. Published by Macmillan in Jan 2020, the book is available for INR 713.79/- @amazonkindle
The story begins with a little 6 year old girl, who considers her mother, a wizard, a powerful one.. who protects her, can do magic, can do wonders with her prayers, bring food on the table and teaches her wonderful stuff.
She observes her and other adults with curiosity and pens down her notes in a notebook.
She teaches her younger brothers too, to be curious and observe. She talks about her stepfather, her teachers, her school life, her mother’s childhood..too in this book.
This book is basically a MeMoiR which explores the intersections of poverty, sexual violence, depression, racism, and sexism—all through the arc of a transcendent coming-of-age.
I loved the storyline, the narration.
Adding the author to my favourites.
✍️ Echo Brown is an African-American writer, performer, and playwright.
A MUST READ. Totally ReCoMmEnD it.
