DIGNITY & GRACE.
The title is so beautiful but we may not decipher the pain masked in it till we read the entire story..
Although fictional, I feel this would be a story of many souls, & they- their families, can relate to the emotions..
The story begins in March 2010, Orkney..when IONA MUIR is just 11 years old..
She is aware her mom, GRACE, a gifted Cellist, a talented musician is very ill..but it becomes heartbreaking for her, when she is told that her mother has decided to stop her medication & spend her last days somewhere else..
She is upset due to the fear of losing her mother & also that her father gets to spend time with her mom & not her..
after her mom’s death..she starts hating her father..leaves the city & moves far away..
Story jumps 10years forward, it’s IONA’s 21st b’day.. she is struggling to make ends meet & is also a cello artist, studying at the same school her mother, Grace, had attended.
On her bday, she receives an envelope from her father, containing letters from her mother..her mother’s LEGACY to her..
